Box Pleat Valance

The Box Pleat Valance is a top treatment that is used often on its own or together with other draperies such as drapery panels or sheers to finish a space. Custom made box pleat valances are always recommended as the fit on any window valance is very important.

Box Pleated Valances are often layered either with sheers or with sheers and panels valances are also put over many types of blinds as a way to dress them up and hide the headrail. A box pleat valance is a great alternative for someone who wants a cleaner looking top treatment than a swag but does not or cannot use decorative drapery hardware to finish the look of the window coverings.

In many of the more traditional Toronto homes we have used the box pleat together with either solids or lightly patterned fabrics in bedrooms, kitchens and living areas. In one professionally decorated home  in Mississauga we used a single scallop with a beautiful blue and brown damask fabric to add height to a short washroom window.

With the correct proportions in the fabric, pleat and height a box pleat valance can add drama and delight to almost any room.
